Precautions for Distribution Boxes

2024-07-24 8 back to list

Distribution box is an electrical system for receiving and distributing electrical energy equipment, it is usually installed in the inlet of the place of electricity, is to ensure the safety of electricity is an important link. The following are some of the precautions in the use and management of the distribution box:

1. **Selection and installation**:

   - Select the distribution box that meets the national standard, and its capacity and grade should meet the actual demand for electricity.

   - The distribution box should be installed in a dry, well-ventilated place that is easy to operate and maintain, avoiding high temperature, humidity, dusty or flammable and explosive environment.

   - The installation location should be easy to operate and maintain, and not affect the evacuation path.

2. **Safety measures**:

   - The distribution box must be reliably grounded and the grounding resistance should meet the requirements of national standards.

   - Suitable circuit breakers, leakage protectors and other protective devices should be installed inside the distribution box.

   - Ensure that all electrical connections are firm and free from looseness to avoid overheating.

3. **Marking and warning**:

   - The switchboard should be clearly labeled, including box number, function description, and operation instructions.

   - Necessary warning signs should be attached, such as “high voltage hazard”, “no touching” and so on. 4.

4. **Operation and maintenance**:

   - Personnel operating the distribution box must be professionally trained to understand the structure and operating procedures of the distribution box.

   - Regularly inspect and maintain the distribution box, including cleaning, tightening connections, and checking protection devices.

   - Faults or abnormalities found should be disconnected immediately and professional personnel should be notified to handle the situation.

5. **Protective measures**:

   - The distribution box should be equipped with suitable guards or door locks to prevent access by unauthorized personnel.

   - Ensure that the door of the switchboard can be easily opened for quick operation in case of emergency.

6. **Environment and Layout**:

   - The area around the switchboard should be kept neat and tidy, free of debris, and ensure good ventilation and heat dissipation.

   - The wiring inside the switchboard should be neat and orderly to avoid crossing and confusion.

7. **Use of tools**:

   - Insulated tools should be used when operating the distribution box, and ensure that the tools are dry and in good condition.

8. **Electrical fire prevention**:

   - Suitable overload protection and short circuit protection devices should be installed in the distribution box to prevent electrical fires.

   - Avoid using flammable substances near the distribution box.

9. **Emergency Plan**:

   - Formulate an emergency plan for the distribution box, including power failure operation and fire handling.

   - Conduct regular drills on the emergency plan to improve the ability to respond to emergencies.

By following the above precautions, the safe operation of the distribution box can be effectively ensured, the occurrence of electrical accidents can be reduced, and the safety of persons and property can be safeguarded.
